The New York Division has vacancies at the Tappan Zee Bridge.

Duties

The successful candidate would, under general supervision, perform painting and rigging operations on high-level bridges; use necessary hand and power tools to clean, scrape, prime and apply paint to all steel members and parts of high-level bridges; maintain painting equipment; inspect for points of damage, corrosion and wear and brings to supervisor's attention; paint Authority buildings, equipment or fixtures when bridge painting operations are suspended by cold or inclement weather.

Qualifications

The candidate must have at least four (4) years of satisfactory experience working under a journey-level painter which would provide training equivalent to that gained in an apprenticeship program. At least one year of this experience must have been spent in painting high level structural steel. A CDL-B drivers’ license must be obtained prior to completion of the probationary period.

Salary ranges from $16.83 to $23.88 per hour plus location pay.
