Thruway Authority Announces All Lanes Reopened at North Grand Island Bridge

The New York State Thruway Authority announced that all lanes on the North Grand Island Bridge located on I-190 have been reopened. They were closed earlier today due to a serious personal injury accident.

During the closure, northbound traffic was directed off I-190 at Exit 20 (Long Road).

The Authority did activate its Highway Advisory Radio (HAR), Dynamic Message Systems (DMS) and issued a TRANSalert to subscribers to alert motorists to the closure.

The Authority appreciates motorists' patience and understanding during this time.
