Thruway Authority Announces Pavement Project Between Interchange 39 (State Fair/Route 690) and Interchange 40 (Weedsport)
Motorists May Experience Moderate to Severe Delays

The New York State Thruway Authority today announced that an ongoing pavement project, taking place between Interchange 39 (State Fair/Route 690) and Interchange 40 (Weedsport), could cause moderate to severe delays for westbound motorists on Tuesday, October 14 through Saturday morning, October 18, 2008, weather permitting.

The westbound driving lane from milepost 300.5 to 303.5 will be closed from 6 p.m. today, Tuesday, to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 15.

The westbound driving lane from milepost 302.5 to 303.5 will be closed from 6 p.m. on Wednesday to noon on Thursday, October 16.

The westbound driving lane from milepost 289.0 to 292.0 will be closed from 6 p.m. on Thursday to 9 a.m. on Friday, October 17, and from 8 p.m. on Friday to 9 a.m. on Saturday, October 18.

Moderate to severe delays could occur in all instances.

Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) will be set up to inform motorists of the work and any delays that may result.

The Authority appreciates motorists' patience and understanding while this important improvement project takes place.
