UPDATE: Thruway Authority Announces Exit 8 Ramp to I-190 Southbound to Temporarily Close for Bridge Maintenance on Thursday

The New York State Thruway Authority announced that the Exit 8 ramp (Niagara Street) on I-190 southbound will now be temporarily closed from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2008 due to a bridge maintenance project. The work is weather permitting.

This project, originally scheduled to take place on Tuesday, October 21, and then moved to Wednesday, October 22, has been delayed due to the weather.

A signed detour will be in place advising southbound motorists to take the Exit 7 (Church Street) to I-190 southbound.

The Authority will activate the Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) to inform motorists of the work and any delays that may result.

The Authority appreciates motorists’ patience and understanding while this essential project takes place.
