Thruway Authority Announces Winter Weather Conditions Persist Along I-84 New York and Pennsylvania Motorists Affected
The New York State Thruway Authority has announced that winter weather conditions continue to cause delays for motorists traveling along I-84 in New York and Pennsylvania.
The Authority has been notified by Pennsylvania authorities that I-84 in Pennsylvania is currently closed between Exits 46 and 43 due to winter weather conditions. Motorists traveling I-84 westbound in New York are advised that I-84 is closed in Pennsylvania; Exit 46 is the second exit along I-84 once you exit New York and enter Pennsylvania.
Additionally, I-84 eastbound in New York is closed between Exit 1 (Port Jervis) and Exit 2 (Mountain Road), due to two tractor trailers being stuck. State Police and maintenance crews are the scene; tow trucks are en route.
The Authority offers a free email service called TRANSalert to its customers via email or text messaging to inform them of major unscheduled incidents that may affect their travel on the Thruway. To sign up for TRANSalert service, customers can visit the Authority's website at www.nysthruway.gov/tas/.
