Thruway Authority Announces Closures along I-84 Cleared

The New York State Thruway Authority has announced that the winter weather conditions that caused closures and accidents along I-84 earlier this morning have cleared and all lanes in both directions are open.

The Authority had activated a Dynamic Message Sign along I-84 westbound to alert motorists that I-84 was closed at the New York/Pennsylvania state line. All lanes are currently open into the state of Pennsylvania.

In addition, flooding that slowed traffic in two lanes northbound between milepost six and milepost nine near Exit 7 and Exit 7A on the mainline has been cleared and traffic is normal.

The Authority has issued TRANSalerts to subscribers advising them the roadways are now clear.

The Authority offers a free email service called TRANSalert to its customers via email or text messaging to inform them of major unscheduled incidents that may affect their travel on the Thruway. To sign up for TRANSalert service, customers can visit the Authority's website at www.nysthruway.gov/tas/.
