As part of the Transportation Regional Advisory Network System (TRANSystem), the New York State Thruway Authority now offers an email service (TRANSalert) to its customers to inform them of major unscheduled incidents that may affect their travel on the Thruway.

What is the
Transportation Regional Advisory Network System (TRANSystem)?
TRANSystem provides the following real-time traffic and traveler information to the motoring public:
- Unscheduled and Emergency Information
- Scheduled Construction Information
- Real-Time Traffic Information
* In the event the Thruway is closed due to an emergency, the Authority will utilize all resources, including 1-800-THRUWAY.
TRANSalert Email: Unscheduled and emergency lane closures will be sent as a TRANSalert email to the affected subscribers and posted on the Authority's Homepage. Sign-up for TRANSalert email.
1-800-THRUWAY: Road conditions, construction alerts and traveler information for the entire New York State Thruway can be obtained by calling the Authority's toll-free road condition information line at 1-800-THRUWAY (1-800-847-8929).
www.nysthruway.gov (Scheduled Lane Closures): Construction information with scheduled lane closures is available in the Maps with Scheduled Lane Closure section.
www.nysthruway.gov (Homepage): Emergency lane closures will be posted on the Authority's Homepage.
Highway Advisory Radio (HAR): Real-time information about traffic conditions, construction and lane closures is transmitted via the Authority's Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) stations.
